Through her legal practice, Veronica R. Norgaard focuses on matrimonial and family matters, as well as criminal defense, municipal court and traffic violations defense, New Jersey State Police Benevolent Association (NJSPBA) contract representation, personal injury litigation and other civil representation.
Formerly a partner in the firm of Koufos & Norgaard, she was selected for inclusion in the New Jersey Super Lawyer Rising Star list in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012. She is admitted to practice in both New Jersey and New York.
Attorney Norgaard began her legal career as the judicial law clerk to the Honorable Joseph L. Foster, J.T.C., in the New Jersey Superior Court (Ocean Vicinage).
Ms. Norgaard has a tax background where she helped indigent clients erase large debts and receive hefty refunds from the IRS through the Syracuse University Low-Income Taxpayers Clinic. This background gives her the financial knowledge to help her current family clients with all aspects of the divorce including tax implications.
In recent years, Ms. Norgaard has earned a reputation throughout New Jersey for aggressive, strategic and effective representation in divorce and family matters. She has had extensive training in family law matters and has appeared in family courts across New Jersey on behalf of clients.
Ms. Norgaard is very involved in the New Jersey State Bar Association as well as many local Bar Associations. She is on the executive committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the New Jersey State Bar and is involved in many family committees.
Because of Ms. Norgaard's tax background — as well as previous experience in real estate law — she has deep transactional and financial knowledge of property division, child support, alimony, prenuptial agreements and other matters involving money and assets. All of these make her an effective advocate for her family law clients.
